About Us
Advocating for Homeless Rights and Resources
SHILO, or Supporting Homeless and Innovatively Loving Others, emerged from a formerly homeless advocate in New Brunswick, NJ, igniting a grassroots coalition. Beginning with a 2016 petition for a year-round emergency shelter, SHILO’s efforts expanded to weekly direct aid, offering essentials and connections to services. Advocacy spans city to federal levels, aiming for systemic change. Registered as a 501c3 non-profit, SHILO’s ultimate goal is a no-barrier drop-in emergency shelter for the entire homeless community in New Brunswick.
